Caring for your Mala

Your mala is a beautiful piece of wearable art. Treat it with care! Place it in its satchel when you are not wearing it or keep it somewhere safe. Avoid excessive tugging or pulling on the elastic cord or nylon thread of your mala. Try not to get it wet (avoid wearing it swimming or in the shower). This will help the stones stay vibrant and the charms from tarnishing, as well as extend the life of the cord. If the tassel of your necklace gets frayed, you can carefully wet it, comb it out with your fingers, and let it air dry.
